I actually kinda like Soda Green but this song really turn me off, and I seriously think that that’s an insult to Radiohead. Singing this song in live concert is already a bad idea, include this track in the CD album is even worse. He has guts, that’s all I can say.

Hi, From my point of view I don’t think Qing feng (lead singer for soda green) english pronunciation have some problem, when I first listened to this song “Creep” I really like it very much, he can really sang this song well n I don’t think it’s an insult to radiohead. Maybe his own way of singing this song make some people turn off , But to me it was a “turn on”.

actually Qing Feng is a really good singer, check out his other songs on youtube then ull know hes got talant. u cant judge a singer just by 1 song.
and for your information, he didnt want to show off, the reason he sang radiohead is because he likes radiohead.

even the best singers in the world just have to hum a tune and it’ll be as good as any other singer’s vocals. it goes to show you dont know much cause you cant accept and understand much.
I think you cannot judge someone singing, or pronunciation by just one song.
That is simply unfair.
Everyone got their rights to sing the song they like using their own way. We need singers who have their own style, imagine him singing the Radiohead way, then they are not Sodagreen anymore.
They’re sodagreen for a reason, that’s their style, that’s qing feng singing styles.
You cannot hate some band you like just by one song the vocalist sang.
Cos his singing style is unique that’s why its not accepted widely by people.
Which is sad, cos we need more unique styles in the music industry.
starting liking soda green after seeing video clip of them and zhang shao han…and thought how well qing feng’s and shao han’s voices blended. a lot of their songs are very original…melodies, arrangements. qing feng is a good singer. that doesn’t mean everyone has to like everything he sings. it does mean everyone has to like him at all. he’s a good singer. soda green is a really good band.
I have no problem with the singer’s unique vocal in their other songs, but his phrasing and pronunciation just sound way too off in this song. Not the most creative rearrangement of Creep, but nice piano work though…
Yah he’s really unique IN A BAD WAY and this is not just from his 1 song! I think i would rather listen to Chen Shui Bian’s boring monologue than to this band’s songs. Even new comer Huang Hong Shen aka Xiao Gui has got more potential than them though a lot of trickery is applied to his album tracks to make him sound in tune. That’s the problem with Taiwan’s slip-shod music industry. If this is good then i dunno wat is… Wat’s wrong with your taste bud pple? U obviously haven’t seen a good band perform. We’re not talking about perfection here but rather professionalism. Nothing against them in a personal way but with this kind of standard they are really doing the mandarin music industry a great disfavour.
Speaking as someone who’s into recording, composing, producing music myself, I feel they have merely a garage band level of musical and technically skills . Being very fortunate to have the platform given to them as they have right now, they should’ve raised the bar and not lowered it as they did and are doing right now. It’s a shame!
Even their latest London MV is super cheesy with poor melody and musical dynamics. Cheesy punches, rhythm and riffs.
To be honest, I can’t really blame them cos the whole mandarin music industry is in a way like that. Whatever formula works, all the label companies will just use it again n again n again. That is why all Chinese ballads sound almost the same n not many singers stand out! As the saying goes, you are what you listen. Everyone listens to the lame quality music, so new output also sounds the same – lame quality music!
Another example is Mayday. Some newpapers call them asia’s no.1 band, but comparing to some lesser known bands that I know in asia, Mayday can’t even hold a candle. They are simply lucky to have well funded company marketing them. It’s majority marketing and not talent actually!

it doesn’t matter if we like each others opinions fighting about it is just a waste of time. on the other hand his pronounciation is pretty bad but it’s a really great song and i think they performed it pretty well! i just heard about sodagreen recently and this site helped me quite a bit so thanks a bunch!
