Weekend in Klang

Dec 2, 2005

Took a 6.30 pm express bus from JB, reached Klang the next day 4.30 am. It took 10 hours to reach the destination, how come? Because…. the bloody bus broke down on Highway near Pagoh, Johor. All of us waited inside the bus at the highway-side, it’s absolutely a nightmare! Coincidently, a long lost primary classmate was in the same bus, I didn’t know that untill we walked out from the bloody bus.

Dec 3 & 4, 2005

  • Had clay pot bah kut teh with Kenny, and passed him the handphones that I smuggled from Singapore.
  • Went to meet Kok Wei aka Cock Way and Jovie for lunch and movie. We watched SPL starring by Simon Yam, Sammo Hung and Donnie Yen, the show was bloodily violent. I love it.
  • Tried hot ginger coke for the first time, it really worked for runny nose. Fantastic!
  • Had clay pot bah kut teh (again) with parents. Yes, I love bah kut teh. You may call me a bah kut teh lover, but I am nothing compared to Jim the super duper pork king.
  • Bought a chinese teapot for my dad.
  • Bought a ceremic chinese tea cup for myself.
  • Met up with Jo Yee and Ah Biao for coffee and lunch. By the way, Ah Biao is a girl, it’s a nickname given by Jo Yee.
  • Bumped into my college coursemates, both of them got married and have a 6-month-old baby boy already.

Sick.

I should have back in Klang by now, if I wasn’t feeling sick! Now my annual leave and bus ticket are wasted, damn. But I felt lucky that I did not take the night bus yesterday otherwise my condition could get worse. Namo amitabha.

My landlord got to know that I am not feeling well, so she told her maid to bring over some porridge for me. My landlord stays with her son-in-law, just opposite of my block, she is a nice lady, always bring over some food for us during weekends. We really appreciate her kindness.

Yummy!

Steamed Dumplings & K750i

Yes, steamed dumplings for dinner again. Met up with Jim and his 2 sisters for dinner at Din Tai Fong after I bought 2 sets of Sony Ericsson K750i in SILVER colour. Those handphones are for Kenny and Jo Yee because they couldn’t get silver colour in KL, and it’s also freaking tough to get K750i in silver colour in Singapore. The sales guy told me that they do not stock silver colour due to low demand.

I went back to the shop where I got the handphones from, Jim wanted to re-new his plan, and get a new handphone. He signed up 2 years plan and trade in his K700i at $180, he paid $288 to get K750i and happily walked out from the shop. $288 for K750i, it’s a good deal!

Jim was very impressed with the sound and camera quality of K750i, now only he understood how excited I was when I got my K750i 5 months ago.

It’s my birthday!

Yes, today is my 18th 28th birthday. I received calls and sms from friends in Malaysia, Singapore and US since yesterday. Thank you guys, but it would be great if you guys buy me some beer. OK, call me a greedy drunkard.

Andy message me on MSN messenger, “What do you want to have for lunch today?”
I replied, “Chicken rice.”
Andy, “OK.”

8 of us went to a very famous boneless chicken rice shop at Changi Village for lunch. The chicken rice was so damn fantastic that Andy, Lawrence and I nearly fell asleep in the car when we were on the way back to office. Anyways thank you guys for the treat today.

I still have another appointment with Jim, Jeff and Yam. This time I treated them to dinner at Crystal Jade Restaurant. Don’t know why, we had a craving for steamed dumplings recently, maybe it’s because of rainy days, it feels good to have steamed dumplings in rainy day, this feeling can only be described in one word - “mantap!”. Alright, it’s photo session now, let’s check it out.

What’s next after dinner? No plan, just go home because we have to work tomorrow. Argghhh, I miss my college days. Jim and Jeff disappeared when we were on the way to Orchard MRT station, Yam told me that they were buying something, so we just wait. 10 minutes later, these 2 fellows appeared with a birthday cake in a plastic bag. Damn… it was totally out of my expectation, I thought they were gonna get me some beer. Anyway, thank you for the birthday cake!

So we went home, we sang birthday song together, made a wish, took some photos, cut the tiramisu cake, ate the cake, couldn’t finish it, put it in the fridge. Oh yeah, wonder what wish did I make? 2 words - “World Peace”, you may call me a lamer, though it will not happen, but this is the wish I have made.

Saturday

Woke up at 11.30 am, lazed a bit, took a shower, went to have lunch at kopitiam with my housemate Jim, came home, lazed away the afternoon.

5pm. Jim suggested take dinner at 鼎泰丰 Din Tai Feng at Bishan Junction 8, sounds good.

6.05pm. Reached there, there’s a short queue but no worries, a friendly waitress got us a table since only 2 of us.

6.10pm. I ordered a bowl of pork chop noodle, Jim ordered 炸酱面. Of course, we would not miss out their most famous steamed dumplings 小笼包, damn… I am feeling hungry now.

As usual, I took out my handphone and took some pictures while waiting for food.

Obviously, these 2 guys were trying to act cool. It’s okay, we are very good at it, we love it.
