Title: The First Of Me
Album: Every Man For Himself
Band: Hoobastank
I must make a choice
A tough decision
Listen to my voice
Should I give in
To temptation, admiration
One leads to myself
The other someone else
Just an empty shell
Just an empty shell
It’s harder than it seems
When you’re told that
All your hopes and dreams
Are yours to hold if
You just give them
What’s expected
Something they can sell
Put upon a shelf
But I am not for sale
I am not for sale
I hear a voice inside
It’s grown into a scream
I’m not the next of them
I am the first of me
‘Cause I can’t live the lie
I am just what you see
I’m not the next of them
I am the first of me
If I can’t refuse
The price they offer
I am sure to lose
And I will suffer
Sell my soul to make a profit
All I have to do
Is make believe it’s true
That’s something I can’t do
That’s something I can’t do
I hear a voice inside
It’s grown into a scream
I’m not the next of them
I am the first of me
‘Cause I can’t live the lie
I am just what you see
I’m not the next of them
I am the first of me
Ah oooo
I am the first of me
Ah oooo
I am the first of me
So when the waiting’s done
And it’s time to face the truth
You know your good enough
Deep down inside of you
You’ve finally woken up
If only just to prove
You were born to lead the way
And be the first of you
The durian is the fruit of trees belonging to the genus Durio. There are currently 30 recognised Durio species, all native to south-eastern Asia. At least nine species produce edible fruit. Durio zibethinus is the only species available in the international market, but other species can be found in local markets in their native region. The durian fruit is distinctive for its large size, unique odour, and its formidable thorn-covered husk. Its name comes from the Malay word duri, meaning “thorn”.

I asked my mom since when I started crazy about eating durian.
Mom: “About 3 or 4 years old. You always asked your grannie for durian whenever you noticed the mobile durian man hawking at our housing area.”
The answer was within my guess, I can still recall the memory of how I beg my grannie for buying me durian.

Indeed.
