新加坡在此次共和联邦运动会中总共夺得18面奖牌（5金、6银、7铜），乒乓4金、射击则有1金。这是新加坡有史以来成绩最好的一次，这些劳苦功高的国家运动员真的是为国争光了。
但是这些夺得金牌的国家运动员是谁？
撇开团体赛不说，在个人比赛项目的四面金牌得主当中，只有一个是真正土生土长的新加坡人，其余的四个都是所谓的“不是土生却是土长”的“新加坡公民”。
某个部长还大言不惭地说新加坡在运动方面有所进展，证明新加坡有能力培养高素质运动员。
怎么个培养法？
简单嘛！到国外去发掘有潜质但是还没有国际名气的年轻运动员，将他们招到新加坡来念书，然后给与最好的运动设备与训练，三五年后就宣誓成为新加坡公民，那么就可以堂而皇之地披上国家战袍去“为国争光”了。
真他妈的不知羞耻。

Glaucoma is a group of diseases of the optic nerve involving loss of retinal ganglion cells in a characteristic pattern of optic neuropathy. Although raised intraocular pressure is a significant risk factor for developing glaucoma, there is no set threshold for intraocular pressure that causes glaucoma. One person may develop nerve damage at a relatively low pressure, while another person may have high eye pressures for years and yet never develop damage. Untreated glaucoma leads to permanent damage of the optic nerve and resultant visual field loss, which can progress to blindness.

世界上最遥远的距离
不是生与死
而是 我就站在患有眼疾的父亲面前
他却认不出我
魏征说：“水能载舟，亦能覆舟。”
我说：“信用卡能陷人于万劫不复之地，亦能救人于水深火热之中。”
这是我的切身感受。
父亲这一次的眼科手术的花费是大约六千五百新元，合折一万五千令吉。
不幸的是，我那少得可怜的存款根本就不足以应付这笔费用。
我不想欠太多的人情，所以只向一个朋友借了一千元，其余的就靠我与弟弟的存款和信用卡了。
我刷了两张卡，弟弟刷了一张卡。这一次的难关总算勉强度过了。
下一步要做的，就是向银行贷款以还清信用卡帐单。
这是一个挑战，也是一个沉重的负担。
然而我对这个负担却丝毫没有抗拒、更没有怨天尤人。
我竟然能没有怨言地去接受这个挑战。
此刻，我发现我变了，我的心境又更上一层楼了。
这让我很惊讶，我认为是佛理改变了我，虽然我不是一个真正的佛教徒。
我没有别的牵挂，只希望爱钻牛角尖的父亲能真正放下执著、不要再怨天尤人。
因为人生无常，所以好运不会永远跟着我们。
也因为人生无常，所以歹运也会有离开我们的时候。
